Governors of the South-West states are meeting in Ibadan today for an urgent, unscheduled session to address rising security concerns across the region.

The closed-door meeting, hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, is taking place at the Governor’s Office, Agodi. All six governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti are expected to attend.

Although official details are still limited, sources say the gathering aims to tackle escalating security threats, accelerate regional infrastructural development, and strengthen cooperation under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).

The governors are also expected to review joint security operations, including the Amotekun Corps, with discussions focused on boosting its effectiveness amid emerging challenges.
