President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, as the respected monarch marks his 80th birthday and 35 years on the throne.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the Ewi for his enduring legacy of integrity, humility, and dignity, noting that the monarch remains one of Nigeria’s most revered traditional rulers.
President Tinubu described Oba Adejugbe as a symbol of cultural pride whose leadership has contributed significantly to the unity and development of Ado Ekiti and Ekiti State at large.
“His Imperial Majesty is a notable traditional ruler in Yorubaland, the country, and beyond,” the President said. “The majesty of his throne is matched by the strength of his character, courage, and dignified existence, as well as the reverence in which he is held.”
The President commended the monarch for his support and friendship over the years, adding that the dual celebration was a moment worthy of national recognition.
As the Ewi marks the milestones with a five-day celebration culminating in his 80th birthday on Sunday, November 23, President Tinubu prayed for God’s continued grace, strength, and long life for the traditional ruler.
