The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 8 Anambra State election, Senator Uche Ekwunife, has publicly distanced herself from allegations of infidelity recently linked to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, Nonye.

The allegations, which circulated widely on social media, claimed that Mrs. Soludo had a child for the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba. The First Lady swiftly condemned the claims, expressing her willingness to undergo a DNA test to clear her name.

In a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Tony Ezike, Ekwunife disowned the reports, describing them as false and malicious. She also tendered an unreserved apology to the Governor, his wife, and the public.

“Senator Uche Ekwunife categorically states that although she has been maligned and disparaged by the Governor’s media team, the said publication did not emanate from her or her camp,” the statement read.

“She further wishes to apologize to the Governor, his wife, and the general public who may have been affected by the altercations of the past few days. She also calls on her supporters to remain focused and avoid any media exchanges with the First Family or any other person as she continues with her campaigns.”
