A rising Gospel Singer, Timothy Ukpa, aka Timothy Bliss from Ukawu in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State has been arrested by the Police after he faked his own kidnap.
According to report gathered by our correspondent, Mr Ukpa who is residing in Abuja planned his own kidnap with his twin brothers and some Hausa boys.
A source who spoke to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity said the incident occurred few days to “MC Walter family Hangout Show” in Abuja when he told someone he was squatting with that he want to go and get tickets for the family hangout and suddenly disappeared.
The source said after two days of not being heared from, someone speaking Hausa called and said they had him in their custody outside Abuja and warned if the family don’t bring 20 million naria they will kill him by Wednesday.
According to the source “a lawyer was contacted and some of his uncles by the same kidnappers.”
“They allowed him to speak with his uncles and was speaking his dialect and telling them to please bring money to save him that 3 people have been killed since he was brought in.”
“The lawyer called one of the uncle and the uncle told him that boy is capable of anything that he is not sure he was kidnapped.”
“They asked him where he was and he told his uncles and the lawyer that he was at a very thick forest where only planes comes and go. They ask him if can identify anything he said he can’t that they drove for 5 hours while inside Black Maria.”
“The lawyer ran to FCID and reported him missing and submitted his number for tracking at the DSS office.”
“After the tracking results came out,the results showed he was in a slump at Gwagwa Abuja inside a local hotel.”
“Further results revealed his twin brothers slept with him in the night of the same day.”
“The twin brothers was invited by the police for some interrogation and they swore to not know anything about his disappearance.”
“Their phone was seized and within few hours the kidnapped person called and the police refused to pick up the call. ”
“The police went through their phones and discovered they’ve been talking and texting each other and updating him about everything.”
“The police now sent him a chat and he responded immediately. And told them he has ran to kadunna to hide. He didn’t know he was chatting with police and not his brothers.”
“The police told him to come back that everything Is now open and known to everyone that it’s a planned kidnap.”
“That was how he ran back to Abuja and confessed everything”, the source added.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to speak with security operatives proved abortive.
