Security has been heightened in and around Blantyre Street and nearby areas in Wuse 2, Abuja, as dignitaries begin arriving at the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC).
Top officials expected at the event, scheduled for 11 a.m., include President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
There are strict restrictions on both vehicular and pedestrian movement, with only a limited number of journalists granted access to cover the opening session.
Among those who have already arrived are Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara State Governor Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, and former Kebbi State Governor and Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
