In an official statement released earlier today, the Director of Communications for Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko addressed recent rumors alleging that the prominent Nigerian politician and businessman is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant with his child.
The statement vehemently denied these claims, calling them “entirely baseless” and the result of “malicious speculation.” It further clarified that reports suggesting Nwoko made statements about fellow Nigerian artist Tuface and polygamy were also unfounded and false.
“Senator Nwoko is currently engaged in a national assignment and is focused on fulfilling his political mandate. He has no time for distractions or rumors,” the statement read. It also pointed out that as a public figure, Nwoko, alongside his actress wife, is often targeted by bloggers looking to gain attention through fabricated stories.
The office also reminded journalists of the serious consequences of spreading fake news and encouraged media practitioners to seek verification directly from official sources.
“These rumors should be disregarded, and the public is urged to rely on official statements from this office,” the statement concluded.
As the senator remains committed to his political duties, the public is encouraged to dismiss the false narratives circulating online.
