A front-seat usher, Mr. Ndifreke Isaiah, of the Uyo-based Full Life Christian Centre has been arrested for the murder of her girlfriend.
According to reliable sources, including brother of the victim, Fiokee, Isaiah was locked in a troubled relationship with the deceased who was a promising make-up artiste. Witnesses from her shop and residential area revealed that he assaulted her on at least two occasions. Despite her repeated attempts to end the relationship after realizing he was not who he claimed to be, he allegedly resorted to threats and coercion.
It was also gathered that the victim had once offered him a barbing space in her shop, but following a disagreement, she asked him to leave. This reportedly led to further tensions between them.
On the fateful Thursday, Isaiah allegedly visited her residence uninvited, taking advantage of the absence of a neighbor who had previously confronted him. It is suspected that an argument ensued, escalating into physical violence, during which he strangled her. He then reportedly fled with her phone, ATM card, and shop key, inserting his own SIM card into her phone.
The tragedy came to light when a concerned church member, unable to reach her, visited her apartment the following day and discovered the heartbreaking scene.
Meanwhile, Isaiah attended an all-night church program on Friday, seemingly unfazed. However, law enforcement, already alerted, moved in. Sensing danger, he attempted to flee while holding the victim’s phone, but he was swiftly apprehended by security operatives stationed outside the church.
The case is now under investigation as the community mourns the painful loss of a promising young woman.
