The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, under the Federal Government, has officially set May 24, 2024, as the date for opening the student loan application portal.
This milestone aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to inclusive education, following the signing of the Access to Higher Education Act, 2023, on June 12, 2023.
This Act, also known as the Students Loan Law, facilitates interest-free loans for tertiary education. Initially planned for September, the launch faced delays due to Tinubu’s directive to include vocational skill loans.
Understanding the importance of skill development alongside traditional education, Tinubu emphasized inclusivity in the program.
The portal offers a user-friendly interface for students to access loans conveniently. Eligible students are encouraged to visit www.nelf.gov.ng to begin their applications and invest in their future.
