An unemployed young man, Onoh Chukwu Richard has committed suicide by drinking Snipper, after losing N2.5 million in sports betting.
Daily Review Online gathered that N1.2million out of the money does not belong to him and his creditors were on his neck.

Richard had in his official Facebook account, indicated that he was going to take his life because he could not live through the shame of facing those he used their money for the betting.
He wrote: “Today is my last day on earth! I going to meet my maker Thank you Chima Anyaso , Ikukuoma Abia, Kelvin Jombo Onumah, Ekwueme Chate and my friends. My spirit is with you all.”
Below is a WhatsApp chat he had with one Stephen Ukpabi moments before his death.
“The only option is to end my life as I can not live with the shame. His Excellency Sir. Pls come to my rescue.
“I have turned into a gambler because of no job and right now, I am at a point if I don’t redeem my debt, I might kill myself to pay the debt. I used 2,500,000 to place a bet and 1.2m is not my own and if I don’t pay up today. I will be dead by the time you read this message.
“As I type this message, I am where I want to buy snipper.

Steve Ukpabi: “Tell the people to hold on so you pay small small, I’m out of cash now but can give something when I have.”

Persuasion and pleadings from friends could however not deter him from embarking on the fatal course.
Daily Review Online gathered that after he drank the snipper, friends gathered and rushed him to Madonna Hospital, Umuahia, Abia State where medical personnel tried in vain to revive him. He was pronounced dead.
An eyewitness, Ibeako Esther Chisom wrote: “Onoh Chukwuma Richard I am heartbroken. I watched the doctors and nurses giving you pressure to see if you can come back but all proved abortive and your pause dropped as the doctor confirmed you dead right in front of me and other of your friends.
“Onoh Chukwuma Richard you really cut down the plans God has for you by taking your life by yourself.”

Sadly, Richard did not live by what he preaches. In a September 7 post, he wrote: “Nigeria is a jungle, whatever you can do to succeed please do it but don’t kill.”
He hails from Arochukwu and is survived by an aged mother.
