Borussia Dortmund moved to the top of the Bundesliga table after they beat Hoffenheim 1-0 thanks to Julian Brandt’s first half goal.
Coming into this game Dortmund were the only team in Europe’s top five leagues to have won every game in 2023.
But they were slow out of the blocks here as Hoffenheim attempted to frustrate the high-flying visitors.
It was actually the home side who went closest to scoring in the opening quarter of the match as Andrej Kramaric forced a smart save from Gregor Kobel.
Up the other end, Sebastian Haller was slowly getting into the game and had a great chance to break the deadlock close to half time but misjudged his finish.
Just before the break though, Dortmund did find their goal.
Julian Brandt was the scorer as a cross came into the box, hit the back of the Germany international, and went in.
Into the second half and Dortmund thought they had doubled their advantage through Marius Wolf but his effort was ruled out by the assistant referee.
Raphael Guerreiro was the next man to try his luck for Dortmund but a right-footed effort from the edge of the area was saved well by Oliver Baumann.
Dortmund had a scare late on as Christoph Baumgartner was all alone at the back post but somehow the attacker headed wide when it looked easier to score.
They rode that out however and won a record nine games in a row to go top of the table.
