A None-Governmental Organisation, Foundation for Enhancement and Promotion of Family Life, has demanded for the quick passage of the bill establishing Kogi Matrimonial Law and Child Right Supportive before the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The NGO declared that the Bill if sale through would drastically reduce alarming cases of divorce among couples as well as boost the revenue generating capacity of the 21 local government areas in the state.
It noted that the bill if becomes a reality, would enable Local Government Areas across the state benefit accumulation revenue amounting to N131,125,00 in processing and managing crisis arising from marriages.

Executive Director of the Foundation made the call at a media roundtable in collaboration with FEPFL Marriage and Career Academy in partnership with the Kogi Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists for the media review of the bill.
Kogi Matrimonial Law and Child Right Supportive Bill, according to the executive director, is presently at its second reading.
He described the bill as of great value to families and the society interns of ensuring peaceful coexistence and revenue generation.
The Executive Director observed that when marriages are rightly processed, there will be peace and security in the society as well as creation of jobs for CSOs.
He held that marriage crisis have been responsible for the increasing crimes and violence in any given society.
He named the thematic areas of the Foundation to include; Health, Education, climate change, Good Governance, justice and peace.
The Chairman of the Kogi Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comr. Adeiza Momohjimoh, described the Kogi Matrimonial Law and Child Right Supportive Bill as crucial and called on the Kogi House of Assembly to pass the bill in the interest of the society.
