An Ado-Ekiti Customary Court on Friday dissolved a 10-year-old marriage between Bolanle Oyewole and her husband Femi for drunkenness, threat to life and lack of rest of mind.

Bolanle, 33, told the court that they engaged in frequent fighting and her husband usually threatened her with knife.

The mother of three said that whenever they fought, her husband was fond of destroying her property.

The Judge, Mrs Olayinka Akomolede, in her judgment, dissolved the marriage, contending that all efforts to reconcile the couple had proved abortive.

Akomolede held that the wife should take custody of the children, while the husband should be responsible for the payment of half of the children’s school fees.

She also ordered Oyewole to pay N3, 000 as monthly allowance on each of the three children without any molestation.

She also ordered Bolanle to allow the Oyewole free access to the children
