Gunmen attack Kaduna wedding, kill 13, abduct several guests By Our Reporter Gunmen have attacked a wedding celebration in Kahir village, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing at least 13 guests, abducting several others, and injuring many. The incident, which occurred late Sunday night around 11:47 p.m., was confirmed by police authorities, who said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact number of those abducted. A community leader, Musa Adamu, said the attackers arrived in large numbers, heavily armed, and opened fire indiscriminately on guests gathered at the venue. Many victims sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to the General Hospital in Kagarko, while those critically injured were referred to hospitals in Kaduna. Residents reported that the assailants operated for nearly an hour without interruption. During the ആക്രമ, they also looted nearby shops, carting away food items, provisions, and drugs from a local chemist. Security agencies have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators. Kaduna State remains one of several North-West states battling persistent attacks by armed bandits. Others affected include Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Katsina. In addition to banditry, the Lakurawa group has been linked to attacks in parts of Sokoto and Kebbi, where they raid communities, rustle livestock, and impose levies on residents. Despite ongoing military operations and regional efforts to combat insecurity, violence continues to spread across parts of northern Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
