President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for continued unity and cooperation among Nigerians as he celebrates his 74th birthday, while expressing optimism about the country’s economic recovery despite ongoing challenges.
In a statement to commemorate the occasion, the President thanked citizens for their goodwill, prayers, and continued support for his administration. He also acknowledged those who used various media platforms to celebrate him.
Tinubu expressed appreciation to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind words, describing their support as deeply meaningful.
Maintaining his tradition of aligning personal celebrations with national realities, the President said he chose to observe his birthday in a low-key manner in consideration of the current mood of the nation.
He said: “Consistent with my tradition over the years to mark my birthday in line with the mood of the nation each year, I resolved to also observe this year’s birthday low key.
“As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we’ve faced since we initiated our reforms. I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by the ongoing Middle East crisis.
“The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team and to our government. We achieved the gains together.”
The President emphasized that the progress recorded so far was a collective achievement involving both the government and the Nigerian people.
As his administration approaches its third anniversary, Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to building a brighter future for citizens, expressing confidence that ongoing efforts would lead to sustained national development.
He called on Nigerians to remain united and supportive, stressing that collective action is key to overcoming present difficulties and achieving a stronger, more resilient nation.
