Manchester City secured a 2-0 victory over Arsenal FC to lift the Carabao Cup, with rising star Nico O’Reilly netting twice in a dominant second-half display at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola’s side delivered a statement performance against the Premier League leaders, ending a winless run against Arsenal and underlining their resilience despite trailing in the title race.

After a tightly contested first half, O’Reilly broke the deadlock and later doubled City’s advantage with two well-taken headers, capping a standout performance from the 21-year-old, who has continued to impress this season.

City’s intensity and organisation proved decisive, as they controlled proceedings and limited Arsenal’s attacking threat throughout the encounter.

Goalkeeper James Trafford also played a crucial role, producing key saves to keep Arsenal at bay, while defender Nathan Aké delivered a commanding display at the back in the absence of regular starters.

The victory marks City’s ninth League Cup triumph and could provide momentum ahead of their upcoming clash with Arsenal in the league.
