The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated Nigerian Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, calling for unity, compassion, and continued support for the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In an Eid-el-Fitr message issued from his office in Abuja, Yilwatda described Ramadan as more than a period of abstinence, noting that it represents “a sacred journey of the soul,” marked by reflection, sacrifice, discipline, and devotion to Almighty Allah.
“As we mark the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the National Chairman extends his warmest felicitations to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Vice President, Kashim Shettima (GCON), members of the Federal Executive Council, the National Assembly, members of the National Working Committee of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, and indeed all Muslim faithful across Nigeria,” the statement read.
The APC chairman praised the commitment of millions of Muslims who observed the fast, noting that the virtues of faith, patience, and selflessness demonstrated during Ramadan are essential not only to spiritual growth but also to national development.
“Over the past month, millions of faithful have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the values of faith, patience, and selflessness, virtues that are not only essential to spiritual growth but are also foundational to nation-building,” he said.
Yilwatda urged Nigerians to sustain the lessons of Ramadan by promoting unity, kindness, justice, and fairness in their daily lives, especially as the nation continues to grapple with socio-economic and security challenges.
“At a time when the nation continues to navigate complex challenges, the spirit of sacrifice and collective responsibility imbibed during Ramadan remains more relevant than ever,” he added.
The APC leader also commended President Tinubu for what he described as “steadfast leadership and resilience,” noting that the administration is taking bold steps to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth, economic stability, and national cohesion. He called on citizens to rally behind the President in building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
He further encouraged Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Fitr celebration as an opportunity to pray for the country, seeking divine wisdom, strength, and good health for President Tinubu, guidance for Vice President Shettima and members of the Federal Executive Council, and protection and success for the nation’s armed forces and security agencies.
The APC chairman also prayed for unity, peace, and renewed hope across the country.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment to good governance, inclusiveness, and national development, Yilwatda assured Nigerians that the APC would continue to support policies and programmes aimed at improving lives and strengthening democracy.
He concluded by praying that Almighty Allah accepts the fasting, prayers, and acts of charity of Muslim faithful as acts of Ibadah, wishing them peace, joy, and abundant blessings.
The statement was signed by Abimbola Tooki, Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman on Media and Communications Strategy, and dated March 19, 2026.
