A youth pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor (Dr) Bola Abiodun, is facing public backlash following a controversial exchange with a social media user identified as Tomisin on X (formerly Twitter).
The disagreement reportedly began when Tomisin addressed him as “Mr. Abiodun” during an online conversation. The pastor was said to have objected strongly, insisting that he be addressed by his clerical title. When she repeated the reference, he allegedly reacted angrily and pronounced a curse, declaring that she would die in her sleep that night.
He reportedly went further to state that if Tomisin woke up the following morning, it would mean that God had not called him and that he was a “bastard.” He also allegedly made remarks about her burial, which many online users have described as disturbing.
However, contrary to the pastor’s alleged pronouncement, Tomisin woke up the next morning hale and hearty, a development that has fueled widespread reactions across social media. Critics have since questioned the pastor’s conduct, and some individuals are said to have submitted formal complaints to RCCG authorities, urging the church leadership to investigate the incident.
As of the time of this report, the church has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
