Achraf Hakimi has said he is ready to face trial over a rape allegation made against him in France, maintaining his innocence and expressing confidence that the court process will establish the truth.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender is accused by a 24-year-old woman of raping her at his home in Paris in 2023. He has strongly denied the allegation.

The prosecutor’s office in Nanterre opened a preliminary investigation in March 2023, and the case is now set to proceed to trial, although no date has been fixed.

In a post on social media platform X, Hakimi said he would contest the charge in court.

“Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial. This is as unjust to the innocent as it is to genuine victims. I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly,” he wrote.

Hakimi’s lawyer confirmed that legal proceedings would move forward, stating that the player is determined to defend himself and seek justice through the courts.

Despite the ongoing case, the 27-year-old has continued to feature for PSG, including in their UEFA Champions League fixtures.

Hakimi, who represents Morocco internationally, remains eligible for selection for both club and country pending the outcome of the trial.
