The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has congratulated Muslim and Christian faithful across the country on the commencement of Ramadan and Lent, describing the simultaneous observance as a powerful symbol of unity and shared destiny.

In a statement signed by Abimbola Tooki, Special Adviser to the National Chairman of the APC on Media and Communications Strategy, Yilwatda said the twin sacred seasons represent significant periods of fasting, reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal for adherents of both faiths.

He described the rare convergence of Ramadan and Lent beginning on the same day as profoundly symbolic and instructive for the nation, noting that it serves as a reminder that Nigerians, regardless of religious differences, are one people bound by a common destiny.

According to him, peaceful coexistence is essential to national progress and stability. He stressed that both seasons emphasise shared virtues such as discipline, compassion, humility, love, and service to humanity, urging Nigerians to allow these values to shape their daily interactions and strengthen interfaith harmony.

“At this critical moment in our national journey, I call on all Nigerians to use this sacred period to pray fervently for our country and for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as it undertakes far-reaching reforms aimed at stabilising and repositioning our economy and society,” he said.

Yilwatda expressed optimism that with unity, patience, and collective sacrifice, the ongoing reforms would yield lasting solutions to Nigeria’s economic and social challenges.

He extended Ramadan greetings to Muslim faithful, praying that Allah accepts their fasts, prayers, and acts of charity. To Christians, he wished a spiritually fulfilling Lenten season and prayed that the period would draw them closer to God in faith, love, and selfless service.
