The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reaffirmed that the sit-at-home it declared for Monday, February 2, 2026, will go ahead as planned, insisting it has not been cancelled.

In a statement, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, warned Ndigbo and supporters to ignore misinformation and comply with the order, adding that no government, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), can prevent the action.

Powerful also addressed reports claiming he had resigned as IPOB’s spokesman, calling them false. He accused APC agents of attempting to spread fake news to disrupt the sit-at-home and emphasized that individuals such as Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who was reportedly dismissed by IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu over two years ago, no longer represent the group.

“Any government or APC agent masquerading as an IPOB member will be exposed. Ifeanyi Ejiofor was sacked and has no business with our leader,” the statement read. Powerful further stated that calls and letters urging him to cancel the sit-at-home would be ignored.

He reiterated that the sit-at-home remains sacrosanct, urging the public to disregard any fake reports or attempts to undermine the solidarity of the Biafra movement.
