Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday led no fewer than 20 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Jos, the Plateau State capital, for the official reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the ruling party.
The event, held at the Polo Field in Jos, drew a large crowd of APC supporters, party stakeholders and residents from across the state, highlighting the political significance of the occasion.
Shettima was joined by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yiltwada, as well as other senior party leaders and governors from different parts of the country, all of whom welcomed Mutfwang into the APC fold.
The gathering marked a major political realignment in Plateau State, with party leaders describing the governor’s move as a boost to the APC’s presence and influence in the state.
Political observers say the development is expected to strengthen Plateau State’s ties with the Federal Government and enhance the APC’s prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
