President Bola Tinubu has hailed the efforts of Nigeria’s security agencies following the release of 100 students abducted from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State.

In a statement issued on Monday, the President expressed delight over their safe return and commended Governor Umar Bago and security operatives for their commitment since the students were kidnapped on November 21.

While celebrating their return, President Tinubu urged security forces to intensify operations to secure the remaining 115 students and teachers still held captive.

“My directive to our security forces remains that all the students and other abducted Nigerians must be rescued and brought home safely. We must account for all the victims,” he said.

He reassured parents that the Federal Government and Niger State authorities were working closely to reunite all abductees with their families, while pledging strengthened measures to secure schools across the country.

“From now on, our security agencies, working with the governors, must prevent future kidnappings. Our children should no longer be sitting ducks for heartless terrorists intent on disrupting their education,” Tinubu warned.

The statement was signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
