President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the outcome of the poll as a clear endorsement of the governor’s visionary leadership and performance in office.

In a statement issued from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu noted that Soludo’s victory—making him the third governor in the state’s history to secure a second term—reflected the trust and confidence the people of Anambra have in his administration.

The President also commended the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he termed the peaceful and credible conduct of the election.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” the President said. “Governor Soludo has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied effectively in serving the people, ensuring accountability and prudent resource management.”

Tinubu recalled his visit to the state in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, praising the governor for introducing what he called discipline, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance.

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing grace and innovation to governance in Anambra. Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” he added.

The President urged Governor Soludo to extend an olive branch to his opponents and work towards uniting the state as he begins his second term, assuring him of the Federal Government’s support on developmental collaborations.

Tinubu also highlighted the significance of Soludo’s All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) securing victory in the poll, noting that it reflected the strength and vibrancy of Nigeria’s democratic system.

He further commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and the commission’s staff for conducting what observers have described as a credible election, urging the electoral body to sustain and improve on the performance recorded.

President Tinubu concluded by reaffirming his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions and deepening electoral integrity nationwide.
