Former Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to education and healthcare development as he visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Adazi-Nnukwu, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Obi, who interacted with the students during the visit, emphasized the importance of education as the cornerstone of national development. He encouraged them to remain focused on their studies while placing knowledge and skill acquisition at the centre of their aspirations.

The former governor, who supported the establishment of the institution, announced a donation of ₦15 million to further strengthen its teaching and learning facilities. He noted that the continued progress of the college remained a project he was dedicated to nurturing over the years.

From Adazi-Nnukwu, Obi proceeded to the Practising School, Agulu, which was gutted by fire last year and has since been seeking support for reconstruction. After inspecting the damage, he assured the school community that he would assist in ensuring the full rebuilding of the facility.

He also addressed students and staff at the school, encouraging them to remain hopeful and resilient in the face of adversity.

Obi restated that investing consistently in human capital—particularly education and healthcare—was the surest path to building a productive and prosperous nation.

“A New Nigeria is Possible,” he said.
