Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points after a comfortable 2–0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
The Gunners dominated from start to finish, recording their seventh consecutive clean sheet and ninth straight win in all competitions under manager Mikel Arteta.
Viktor Gyökeres opened the scoring in the 14th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball from a corner after Gabriel’s header found him at close range. Declan Rice doubled the lead before halftime, finishing off a swift counter-attack with a well-placed header from Leandro Trossard’s cross.
Burnley struggled to create meaningful chances throughout the match. Their best opportunity came in stoppage time when Marcus Edwards’ free-kick struck the post.
The defeat leaves Burnley 17th on the table, four points above the relegation zone. Arsenal, meanwhile, remain in control of the title race and turn their focus to Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League trip to Slavia Prague.
