Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has said the team should be “embarrassed” following their 3–0 loss to Fulham, apologizing to supporters for what he called a poor performance.
The defeat in London marked Wolves’ eighth loss in ten Premier League matches and left fans furious with the players, head coach Vitor Pereira, and the club’s board.
“It’s just not good enough, and we need to do better. We should be embarrassed,” Johnstone told reporters. “They might not want to hear it, but we apologise to the fans. We’re trying our best, but we have to turn it around quickly.”
Reflecting on the match, Johnstone admitted: “Pretty much everything went wrong. We went down to ten men early, conceded early, and it’s difficult in the Premier League to get a result like that.”
The result leaves Wolves in mounting pressure as they struggle to find form in the ongoing Premier League campaign.
