President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ms. Sanae Takaichi on her historic election as Japan’s first female Prime Minister, following her victory in the parliamentary vote.
In a personally signed letter, President Tinubu described her emergence as a testament to her decades of dedicated service and contributions to Japan’s political landscape through the Liberal Democratic Party.
“Your victory represents the confidence reposed in you by the people of Japan and underscores your remarkable leadership,” the President wrote.
He expressed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with Japan, noting that both nations share productive and strategic ties across multiple sectors.
President Tinubu added that he looks forward to working closely with Prime Minister Takaichi to deepen bilateral relations and explore new areas of cooperation.
He concluded by wishing her good health and success in her new role.
