President Bola Tinubu has nominated Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State for appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The nomination, contained in a letter forwarded to the Senate on Monday, seeks the chamber’s confirmation of Dr. Doro to fill the ministerial slot left vacant following the election of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.

Prof. Yilwatda previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction before his elevation to the party leadership.

Dr. Doro, born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. A certified Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Dr. Doro has worked extensively with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), gaining frontline experience in urgent care, GP practices, and hospital settings.

Beyond his professional career, he has also been actively involved in youth mentorship and social impact projects within the Nigerian diaspora and local communities.

The statement announcing the nomination was signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
