The General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, has tendered an unreserved apology over the violent incident that marred his club’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) game against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday evening.
In a statement issued on Monday, Musa described the incident as “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable,” adding that it did not reflect the true values or proud history of Kano Pillars.
“What transpired against Shooting Stars is heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable. It does not represent the true values, identity, or proud history of Kano Pillars,” Musa said.
He apologised to the players, coaches, and supporters of Shooting Stars, as well as to the referees, league officials, and fans across Nigeria and beyond who were disappointed by the incident.

> “Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for,” he added.
Musa, a former Super Eagles captain, assured that the club would work closely with the relevant authorities to identify and punish those responsible for the chaos, while taking internal measures to prevent a recurrence.
He also urged Kano Pillars supporters to demonstrate true loyalty through discipline and respect rather than violence, stressing that the club’s rich legacy must not be stained by acts of indiscipline.
“This must be a turning point for us. We must remind the world that our love for this club can be powerful without being destructive,” he stated.
Musa concluded by taking full responsibility on behalf of the club, pledging to restore trust, respect, and the true spirit of football in Kano and across Nigeria.
