Olorogun Oskar Ibru, billionaire businessman and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, has died at the age of 67.

His family confirmed the news on Wednesday, saying he passed away after a brief illness.

Oskar, one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty, played a key role in sustaining and expanding the conglomerate founded by his father, Olorogun Michael Ibru, whose businesses spanned shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.

His death comes less than a decade after the passing of his father in 2016. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.

Media entrepreneur Dele Momodu described him as “an extremely friendly gentleman and a socialite per excellence, who was loved by many.”
