Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and ex-Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Solomon Ewuga, has passed away at the age of 70.
Ewuga, who served as Nasarawa’s deputy governor under Abdullahi Adamu in 1999, was later appointed Minister of State for the FCT by President Olusegun Obasanjo. He also represented Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the 7th National Assembly (2011–2015) on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
Governor Abdullahi Sule described his death as a great loss to Nasarawa and Nigeria. In a statement, Sule said Ewuga was “a consummate grassroots politician, an astute administrator, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the service of the state and nation.”
He prayed for the repose of Ewuga’s soul and condoled with his family, the Eggon traditional council, and the people of Nasarawa State.
