President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Engineer Biodun Otunola, Managing Director of Planet Projects Limited, on his appointment as the Honorary Lagos Consul of the United Mexican States.
Otunola, a renowned civil engineer and transport planner, received the appointment during the celebration of Mexico’s 215th Independence Day in Abuja on Monday, September 15, 2025.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the recognition as well-deserved, noting Otunola’s contributions to transport infrastructure across Nigeria, including major projects in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu.
The President urged Otunola to use his new role to deepen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Mexico, especially in the areas of trade and investment, for the long-term benefit of citizens of both countries.
Tinubu also assured the new honorary consul of his support as he expands his professional and diplomatic engagements across Africa and beyond.
