The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of a lifeless man inside a vehicle at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed on Monday that the body, believed to be that of a labourer, was found in a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF at the National Assembly car park on Sunday morning.
Responding to a distress call at about 9 a.m., officers from the National Assembly Division evacuated the body to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed that it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
The FCT Commissioner of Police has ordered a discreet probe into the incident and directed efforts to establish the identity of the deceased. Updates, police said, will be provided as investigations continue.
