President Donald Trump has announced plans to host a UFC championship fight on the grounds of the White House as part of the America250 celebration marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Speaking at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Trump said:
“Does anybody watch UFC? The great Dana White? We’re going to have a UFC fight — think of this — on the grounds of the White House.”

He added that UFC President Dana White would organize the event, which is expected to accommodate between 20,000 and 25,000 spectators. “We have a lot of land there… going to be a full fight,” Trump said.

The event is part of a broader series of festivities planned for America250, including professional and amateur events across national parks, battlefields, and historic sites.

Trump’s visit to Iowa also celebrated the passage of his “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which aims to cut taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security benefits.

Trump, a known ally of Dana White, recently attended UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey. After his election victory in November 2024, he appeared at a UFC event at Madison Square Garden alongside Elon Musk, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Donald Trump Jr., and Kid Rock.

Trump also announced plans for:

A “Great American State Fair” across all states, culminating in a major patriotic festival on the National Mall.

The official opening of the National Garden of American Heroes, a park honoring influential Americans.

The Patriot Games, featuring top high school athletes from all 50 states.

A massive event in New York City called Sail4th 250, showcasing tall ships, an air show by the Blue Angels, and historical exhibitions.

“Exactly one year from tomorrow, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding with a birthday party the likes of which you have never seen before,” Trump said. “We’re going to ensure that America’s 250th anniversary is the single greatest year in the history of our country.”
