The Kogi State Government has applauded Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, the Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, for his outstanding contributions to the security of his home state. Describing him as “a patriotic Kogite who leads by example,” the government praised Faleke’s unwavering commitment to public safety and community welfare.

Faleke, an indigene of Kogi State, recently donated a brand-new Hilux patrol vehicle to the newly commissioned Smart Police Divisional Headquarters in Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area. The high-tech facility was established through a collaboration between the Nigeria Police Trust Fund and the Kogi State Government to modernize and digitize security operations across the state.

In a statement on Sunday, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, conveyed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s gratitude to the federal lawmaker. He noted that Faleke’s gesture demonstrates genuine leadership, where security takes precedence over political ambition.

“The Government of Kogi State reiterates the commendation given by His Excellency during the commissioning of the Smart Police Division,” Fanwo said. “Hon. James Faleke’s actions reflect a deep sense of duty to the people. He has placed security above politics and the well-being of the people above personal ambition.”

Fanwo also revealed that Faleke has been actively supporting the state behind the scenes—providing logistical, intelligence, and operational support to security agencies without seeking public recognition.

“This donation will go a long way in strengthening security not just in Ijumu, but across Okunland, Kogi West, and the entire state. It’s the kind of impactful leadership our people need—quiet, deliberate, and focused on results, not applause.”

He further urged other political and business leaders of Kogi origin to emulate Faleke’s selflessness.

“Hon. Faleke’s interventions are not driven by personal gain or the protection of private investments. They are driven by love for his people and a commitment to securing lives and property in Kogi.”

Fanwo also warned against the actions of illegal miners and their collaborators, emphasizing that the state would not tolerate any act of economic sabotage that endangers public safety.

“We are monitoring these activities closely. Anyone aiding or abetting illegal mining and threatening the peace of our communities will face the full force of the law,” he warned.

The Kogi State Government reaffirmed its dedication to working with patriotic individuals like Hon. James Faleke to safeguard lives, preserve peace, and sustain the progress made in law enforcement and security.
