A heartbreaking tragedy struck Bauchi State on Saturday, June 14, as Superintendent of Police Mustapha Garba, attached to the Bauchi State Police Command, lost his life in a fatal car accident on the way to his own wedding. Two of his friends, who were traveling with him, also died in the crash.
Below is the Police command statement on the Incident:
“The command is in mourning. SP Mustapha Garba was en route to his wedding when the unfortunate incident occurred. He was traveling with three friends in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
“At Bargan Tsamiya, the vehicle lost control, veered off its lane, and collided head-on with an oncoming Opel Vectra.
“Upon receiving the distressing news, the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Sani-Omolori, immediately ordered the Divisional Police Officer of Toro Division to mobilize and evacuate the victims to Toro General Hospital.
“Tragically, a medical doctor at the hospital confirmed that SP Garba and two of his companions had died. Their bodies have since been released to their families for burial.”
