Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has denied any plans to run against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement released by his media director, Michael Ohiare, Bello dismissed a circulating video from a 2022 rally as misleading, saying it was falsely being portrayed as a recent campaign move.

“Our principal, Bello, has no 2027 presidential ambition,” the statement read. “He remains fully committed to President Tinubu’s re-election.”

The video in question, according to Bello’s team, clearly showed 2022 dates on its banners — evidence that it was being misused by what they described as “detractors.”

Ohiare labeled the video’s re-circulation as the work of mischief-makers attempting to pit Bello against the president.

“This is not the first time falsehoods have been spread to create unnecessary tension,” he added.

Bello’s team urged the public to disregard the claims and remain focused on national unity and development.
