The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed a recent report circulating in the media, claiming that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) will resume on 27th May 2025.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, 4th March 2025, INEC clarified that the report was false and that no official resumption date for the CVR process has been announced. The Commission urged the public to disregard the misleading information and refrain from spreading unverified claims.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC, emphasized the need for caution regarding such unconfirmed reports, underscoring the Commission’s commitment to keeping the public informed through official channels.
As of now, there has been no official communication regarding the resumption of voter registration activities.
