  • NNPP Rejects Tsanyawa/Ghari Re-Run Results, Accuses INEC of Manipulation By Agency Reports The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has rejected the results of the Tsanyawa/Ghari State Constituency re-run election in Kano State, accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of colluding with politicians to subvert the will of the people. In a statement issued by the state chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, the party alleged that INEC illegally declared results at its headquarters in Kano instead of at the constituency collation centre. Dungurawa also claimed that INEC canceled results from the 10 polling units where the Court of Appeal had ordered a re-run, effectively restoring the disputed earlier results. He insisted that only presiding officers at polling units have the legal authority to cancel election results. “The manipulations orchestrated against our candidate in the Tsanyawa/Ghari re-run election cannot be condoned. This is a denial of the electorate’s rights,” he said. While condemning the Tsanyawa/Ghari process, the NNPP commended the Shanono/Bagwai bye-election, where its candidate, Ali Alhassan, emerged victorious. The party vowed to continue resisting what it described as “injustice, favoritism, and election manipulations.” “We salute the courage of our people who stood with us and voted massively for the NNPP,” Dungurawa added.
