Pa Bibire Lamidi, the owner of a collapsed building in Ibadan, Oyo State, tragically lost five children and grandchildren in the incident. Several patients under his care, including those with mental health issues, also perished.

The one-storey building, located in Jegede, Olunloyo, Ona Ara Local Government Area, collapsed around 2 AM on Thursday. Many occupants were left fighting for their lives in hospitals.

The Oyo Police Command reported that those rescued sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical attention.

In an interview, Pa Lamidi’s wife, Alh. Yidiatu Lamidi, shared, “I wasn’t there when it happened. My husband said he had just finished using the toilet when the house suddenly collapsed. Five of his children and grandchildren died, along with some of his mentally ill patients.”

When asked about the building’s condition, she stated, “The house showed no signs of weakness. This feels like a spiritual attack.”

As of the latest update, Pa Lamidi is still receiving medical treatment.
