Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians living in Houston , United States not to lose hope of. new Nigeria.
He said this on Tuesday during his ongoing thank-you tour across the United States, where he engaged with the Nigerian diaspora community. The gathering provided an opportunity for Obi to listen to the concerns and aspirations of Nigerians living abroad.
In his address, Obi urged attendees not to lose hope in the pursuit of a New Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of the diaspora’s role in nation-building, citing examples from countries like China, Japan, and India, whose citizens abroad have actively contributed to their countries’ growth.
“I encourage you all to keep the faith and find ways to support our cause,” Obi stated, reinforcing the idea that a united effort can lead to significant change. He expressed gratitude for the support received from the Nigerian community in Houston, highlighting their essential role in the movement toward a just and equitable Nigeria.”
Obi underscored that both Nigerians at home and abroad share a common dream of a prosperous nation, stating, “Together, we are laying the foundation for a New Nigeria that is within reach. That great nation is possible and within our reach.”
The event resonated with attendees, many of whom expressed optimism about the future of Nigeria and their commitment to contributing to its development.
