Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to embark on a two-day working visit to Sweden, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu in high-level bilateral discussions.
The announcement was made by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, on Wednesday.
During the visit, Shettima will engage with key officials, including Crown Princess Victoria and the Swedish Prime Minister. He will also meet with private sector stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities between Nigeria and Sweden in sectors such as ICT, innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.
Nkwocha noted that Shettima will discuss potential partnerships with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital firm that recently launched Norrsken22, a $205 million tech investment fund aimed at supporting African entrepreneurs. Notably, 40% of its investments are expected to benefit Nigerian tech startups.
Additionally, 12 Nigerian private sector companies involved in business with Sweden will accompany the Vice President as a private sector delegation. Shettima plans to use this opportunity to promote Nigeria’s economic vision and ongoing reforms aimed at fostering a business-friendly environment for investors.
