The Edo Youth Vanguard has raised alarm over the invasion of INEC office in Benin by thugs with intent to burn the building and destroy electoral materials used in the September 21 governorship election in the state.

Eriki Johnson said in a statement that police men at the premises of the state INEC watched in complicity doing nothing to wade off the thugs.

“It took the intervention of the army to dislodge the supposed APC thugs from the INEC office by 8:30pm this Tuesday night.”

He said it was disgusting for the police to watch as if they were helpless until the military waded in and drove the thugs away.

He said by the action and in action of the police goes to show it’s conaivance in the state by de-policing Edo state in allowing APC thugs to having a field day.

He said the efforts of the legal head of INEC colluding with APC to frustrate PDP from reviewing it’s activities has become public discussion which is unacceptable and unfortunate.
