Reverend Father Mikah Suleiman, who was abducted by bandits about a fortnight ago in Zamfara, has regained his freedom.

The Director of Communications of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Revd. On Sunday, Fr. Pascal Salifu said that the diocese was “overjoyed” with Suleiman’s release and added that the priest was currently receiving “necessary care and support.”

‘We extend our heartfelt gratitude to God for His protection and to everyone who offered prayers and support during this challenging time.

“Our thanks also go to the authorities and all involved in securing Fr Mikah’s release.

“Please keep him in your prayers as he begins his recovery,” Salifu said.

Reverend Mikah was kidnapped around 3 am at his residence in the Damba area of Gusau, Zamfara State, on June 22.
