Today marks the first anniversary of the release of Mohbad’s sophomore EP, “Blessed.” The project, released on June 30, 2023, solidified the young artist’s unique place in the Afropop scene.
Mohbad, born Oladimeji Ilerioluwa Aloba, captivated audiences with his music, aptly nicknamed “Imole,” meaning “light.” His music offered escape and relatability, particularly during the pandemic with his viral hit “KPK.”
“Blessed” showcased Mohbad’s growth as an artist. The EP featured his signature soulful vocals alongside a deeper reflection on his experiences. He transitioned between various styles, showcasing his versatility and commanding attention with his baritone voice.
The project also spotlighted collaborations with long-time friends Bella Shmurda and Zlatan. Mohbad’s music merged various Afropop influences, creating a lasting impression.
