Six soldiers have been dismissed by the Nigeria Army for their alleged involvement in the killing of NDLEA Officer Kingsley Chimetalo.
Four of them, including Sani Munzani, Abubakar Auwalu, Abubakar Sani, and Muazu Hassan, have been handed over to the police, while two are still at large. The incident occurred during a stop and search operation at Ramat Junction in Bida, where the soldiers attacked NDLEA officers. Tragically, Chimetalo was fatally stabbed during the altercation. The authorities, including the police and the Nigeria Army, collaborated on an investigation, leading to the identification, court martial, and dismissal of the soldiers involved. SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the four suspects have been handed over for prosecution, with Sani Munzani admitting to the stabbing during interrogation.
All suspects are under investigation at and will be charged accordingly at the conclusion of the probe.
