LIKE everyone else I was shocked to learn of the passing of Herbert Wigwe, Group CEO of Access Holdings, in a helicopter crash in the United States of America, in which his wife and daughter also died.
He was a great banker whose dedication to banking broke new frontiers that improved services and in his competitiveness set standards that have benefitted the larger society.
His sudden passing is a great loss to the South South, Nigeria, and Africa.
Last year, he and I in our shared passion for human capacity development, were given licences for our separate private universities. I hope that his passing would not stop that laudable dream.
On behalf of my family, and the South South Caucus of the Senate, I extend condolences to his family, friends, and associates worldwide.
May the Almighty rest their souls .
