The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), on Friday, launched its e-payment platform to the public to ensure easier and effective tax collection for the state.
The Acting Chairman of KGIRS, Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe while performing the ceremony in his office, said that the era of using technology to drive tax payment has become imperative to enable his organisation Live up to expections in revenue generation for the state.
“The new management has resolved to key into technology for effective service delivery as well as enhancing compliance in tax payment. Our tax payment processes from now on will receive serious boost as you can simply stay in your house or office to pay your tax
“The KGIRS Service Charter will help in identifying who is real or fake tax officials. Will also take care of tax clearance certificate, tax receiption and registration”
Enehe said that with the newly launched E- Tax Service, the tax system of the State will no longer be the same as his organisation can now boast of meeting with the N23 billion expected revenue in the 2023 budget estimate.
Enehe disclosed that with the support of his management team, he has been able to reposition KGIRS for optimum performance
He said he was able to usher in greater improvement in the day to day running of the organisation to soar up the revenue base of the Service, with tax friendly policies.
“Within one year in office, staff welfare, tax education, enlightenment and collection as well as prompt payment of monthly salary and claims amongst others were given topmost priority”
