In its task to improve on security situation, the Kogi State Government is to design a template that will be binding on business operators and corporate organizations to checkmate the Activities of bandits across the state.
Governor Yahaya Bello stated this during a meeting with owners of businesses and companies in the state at the Government House, Lokoja.
Governor Bello said the template will be put together by representatives from corporate organizations, miners, schools, manufacturers and other stakeholders to secure the state.
He stated that the decisions taken will be binding on all concerned and be enforced for a more secured business environment.
According to him, the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will be made mandatory for business owners based on their capacity with a view to contributing to the immediate location where their businesses are operating.
The Governor restated that the provision of decent accomodation and transportation for workers and use of technology to monitor the business area within a specified radius will be enforced by government.
Governor Bello declared that any company that refused to comply with the conditions of operation will be shut down, pointing out that adequate compliance will lead to a safer Kogi State.
He urged the people of the State to be security conscious at all times, in all places and in their utterances, telling them to continue to give credible information to security agencies to assist them in the fight against crimes and criminality.
In their separate remarks, representatives from corporate organizations, companies, schools, manufacturers and miners commended government for its effort at protecting the lives and property of the people.
They called for the employment of technology in monitoring activities, creating more jobs and employment opportunities for the teeming youths.
