The Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Yagba West State Assembly Constituency in Kogi, Maiyaki Sunday Oluwasanya has disclosed that sponsorship of motions that will lead to enactment of laws for the promotion of youth and women empowerment will be his main focus if elected.
Oluwasanya in an exclusive interview with Our Correspondent over the weekend, also hinted that he will employ intensive lobbying that would bring succour to his people and wipe out the untold hardship inflicted on them by the ruling APC in Kogi state.
He vowed that if given the mandate,he will agressively push for new laws that would guarantee adequate checks and balances between the executive and legislative arms of government for accountability and transparency in the system.
The PDP Assembly Candidate further unfolded that if he comes on board efforts will be made to ensure that his constituents have access to quality and affordable education.
Oluwasanya therefore, called on the people of his area to reject the ruling APC that had inflicted poverty, pains and insecurity on them and vote wisely for all the candidates of the opposition PDP to regain their sound livelihood.
He lamented the negative impact of vote buying on the nation’s electoral process and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), to end the unfortunate trend.
According to him, this can be effectively achieved by “Making polling booths a bit far from the eyes of voters and agents alike, this will give the electorate the audacity to vote for their conscience and disabuse the mind of the ‘buyer’. It takes two to tango, if the ‘buyer’ is not sure where the ‘seller’ voted. Paying will then be discouraged”
“Iam highly equipped with competence, character and capacity to represent the good people of Yagba West at the Kogi State House of Assembly inview of my proven track records.
“I have been a party man since 1998, I had represented PDP in several sensitive positions. My representation now if given the chance by God’s grace will be of good” Oluwasanya assured.
